Acosta REMOTE ScrumMaster in United States

Overview

The Scrum Master applies the Scrum Framework to enable teams to self-organize around product and project deliverables. They work with the product owner to help them define the product roadmap expressed as product backlog items and support the team by facilitating the scrum ceremonies and educating them on the rules, roles, and framework of Scrum.

This is a remote (work from home) position

Responsibilities

Essential Functions of this Position:

  • Leading agile team ceremonies

  • Guiding the team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values

  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable.

  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment

  • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work

  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution

  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimal Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree preferred

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) credentials, Agile Certification and/or equivalent training.

  • PMP Certification is an asset

Experience Requirement:

  • Experience in the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team that diligently applied Scrum principles, practices, and theory.

  • A strong agile skillset in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.

  • Knowledgeable of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).

  • Program and/or Project management experience is an asset

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: Scrum, XP, Kanban.

  • Proficiency in JIRA.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong leadership, time management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
