Acosta Project Accounting Payroll Accountant (Remote) in United States


This position is integral part of the Finance group. It works closely with Client Finance, Client Teams and Project Accounting to create client level P&Ls and to provide financial support to the client teams.

This is a remote (work from home) position

  • Assesses information gathered from Account Coordinators, Project Managers, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable billing associates to ensure accurate billing of invoices.

  • Validate information with Account Coordinators and Project Managers to ensure accurate costing of jobs prior to billing and final invoice distribution to client.

  • Evaluates Revenue Recognition by project at the contract level

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation by Project

  • Monitors all open projects entered daily into operating system and monitors execution data of program to ensure timely billing to client.

  • Responsible for providing open project report weekly and update notes related to billing to determine when projects will be ready for billing.

  • Partners with Client Team and Procurement for outstanding invoices. Works with Accounts Payable on creating payable against job.

  • Ensures all programs requiring deposit invoices are completed according to established accounting guidelines.

  • Reviews high volume of invoices to ensure clients charged appropriately by purchase order number; codes invoices to appropriate G/L account for Accounts Payable process.

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Three to five years accounting experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred (Accounting)

  • Advanced Excel data analysis skills required

  • Analytical skills

  • High level organization

  • Experience with Revenue accounting principles

  • Access database experience a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Manage multiple priorities

  • Proven ability to work well in teams
