Position Overview

The Account Director will oversee the operational success of one of ActionLink's client program sales accounts. This role plays a critical part in achieving key performance metrics and client satisfaction rates as well as working collaboratively with the client on short-term and long-term strategies that will benefit the client and ActionLink. It is vital that this role collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure proper content delivery and execution for the assigned program. The Account Director is responsible for preparing and conducting Quarterly Business Reviews with the client to ensure program satisfaction, contract renewals, and potential opportunities for growing the account organically. The Account Director will lead and interface with all designated client and ActionLink program support members including, but not limited to, Account Executives, Account Managers, Operations Managers, and Field Managers. The Account Director is responsible for communicating and demonstrating the core values of ActionLink and will report directly to the Vice President of Sales Operations.

The Account Director is responsible for:

  • Meeting the business revenue and profit goals through client acquisition, new revenue streams, and growth with existing client

  • Presenting value added programs and solutions for customers in order to increase base business, grow profit and volume, and meet new business and service challenges

  • Developing annual financial business plan and forming strategic business relationships

  • Acting as a conduit with all business units for creation, compliance, and accuracy of sales in relation to proposals, contracts, SOW documents, sales pipeline, company forecast, budget vs actual reconciliation, invoicing and collections

  • Collaborating with cross-functional team’s processes to ensure compliance and adherence to standard operating procedures

  • Collaborating with peer Account Directors across Sales, Merchandising, and Business Development to develop consistent tools and processes that create more efficient and effective processes to achieve consistent execution across all programs

  • Leading and developing talent that can be leveraged holistically across all ActionLink business units

Duties

  • Model, promote, and protect the client’s brand

  • Qualify, sell, and grow partner relationships with existing client

  • Generate presentations and other materials needed for partner meetings or demonstrations including Quarterly Business Reviews, weekly updates, and annual planning

  • Manages a weekly/monthly/quarterly business meeting rhythm in partnership with client needs

  • Manages monthly, quarterly, annual financials to include coverage plans, billing, budgeting, and forecasting

  • Work with client to prepare jobs, provide updates, and maintain a strong working relationship

  • Work with Sales and Data Analysts to create client reporting, review analyzed data gathered and summarize outcome for client(s)

  • Coordinate, communicate, and partner with all cross-functional teams in order to provide successful results to client(s) as well as suggest changes to improve results

  • Manages District Manager and Operations team towards achievement of established goals

  • Manage a group of direct reports that require annual goal setting, monthly/quarterly/annual reviews

  • Create and execute an annual personal development plan with ActionLink's VP of Sales Operations

  • Maintain a quarterly field visit plan in conjunction with client field leadership team

  • Adhere to the guidelines of Actionlink's travel and expense policies

Qualifications

  • 5 years of account management experience

  • Prior retail industry experience required

  • Knowledge and experience with the consumer electronics industry, big box retail, and/or office and club retailers

  • Strong project management skills and experience

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage client relationships

  • Experience leading a team of remote employees

  • Experience managing a retail facing field team

  • Experienced in performance management processes

  • Knowledge of data analysis, sales tracking, compliance reporting

  • Skilled at problem solving and understanding client requests

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated success in acquiring new or expanding profitable business clients

  • Demonstrated success in identifying and connecting with executive-level decision makers

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PDF files, JPEG, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule

Working Environment

  • Remote home office environment with access to reliable high-speed internet connectivity

  • Minimum 25% travel required to visit retail markets and offices of ActionLink and client

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to rent a car

  • Must be able to travel locally by vehicle and nationally by plane as needed

  • Must be able to use a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment

  • Must be mobile and able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
