Foodservice Sales Director, Quebec & Atlantic Canada
Job purpose:
Responsible for managing Quebec and Atlantic province’s Foodservice Sales Team to ensure achievement of annual operating plan
Coaches and develops Field Sales team members to grow their business development skill sets along with career goals
Assists with Alternate Food Channel developmentthrough directives provided by Vice President and/or Director of Alternate Channels

Responsibilities:
Annual Operating Planning Process
Provides input, strategy to overall managerial planning process that will establish the organization’s annual operating plan
Participates in additional strategy and operational planning sessions throughout the fiscal year
Ensures that the Quebec and Atlantic annual operating plan is tied into all key customers, including each team member’s top 20 accounts and their respective annual plans
Business Development
Responsible for ensuring achievement of each client objective is within the Annual Operating Plan
Assists each team member with securing/delivering objectives for Top 20 accounts by client within pre-determined timelines.
Evaluate and discuss quarterly gap analysis review with each direct report
Works closely with each team member to ensure quarterly and annual Bonus Incentive Plan objectives and Short-Term Initiatives are achieved
Establishes objectives, issues agenda, and leads discussion for all team and individual business review meetings (Quarterly 1:1 Reconnect Meetings, Weekly or Bi-Weekly 1:1 Meetings and Team Discussions)
Attends all customer partner trade shows, distributor, and key operator events
Liaisons with client partners for business development assistance.
Direct management for a base of key accounts that may include Tier 1 Distributors
Continual relationship development with key personnel of all Top 20 operators, distributor, multi-unit and alternate channel accounts
Team Coaching and Development
Utilize Acosta’s KPI’s to measure each direct report’s progress towards best practices and effective results
Provides ongoing coaching and guidance to direct reports to enhance business development skill sets and achieve development goals
Participates in Annual Human Resource Process with Cores’s management team/direct reports including succession planning, annual team member reviews, development plans
Work in field with each team member to foster best practices and provide infield and hands on coaching
Administration
Prepares and participates in Monthly and/or Quarterly Business Review meetings with Acosta’s management team
Utilizes CRM reporting suites to evaluate business, prepare gap analysis and work with team and (where applicable) Senior Vice President to create business development strategies to address gaps and opportunities
Provides required reporting as requested by Senior leadership team and client partners
Additional items
Other duties as they arise from time to time and as assigned to the Business Development Manager
Qualifications
General:
Ability to develop and lead a team of business development professionals with varying degrees of experience and expertise
Possess highly effective organizational and prioritization skill sets
Ability to make decisions and recommendations supported with solid rationale
Articulate written and verbal communication skills both in French and English- fully bilingual
Specific:
5+ years business experience within the traditional and non-traditional Canadian Food Away from Home industry
Direct team management and development experience
Demonstrate a servant leadership style to direct reports/team
Strong Microsoft skills especially within Excel and Power Point
