Retail Merchandiser Part Time


ActionLink supports many leading brands across the consumer home products and electronics industries. Our team of field merchandisers are mechanically inclined, technically minded, and self-reliant individuals that work in retail environments without the standard retail hours.

Our Merchandising Specialists travel to various big-box retailers to set up new product items, install technical devices, assemble displays, and complete routine visual maintenance tasks for our clients and vendor partners. If selected, you will play a key role in supporting critical product releases and creating visually attractive displays that allow our clients’ industry leading brands to stand out and excite customers.


  • Around 15 - 25 hours per week; may fluctuate a little higher or lower some weeks depending on time of year

  • Weekly assignments are self-scheduled; Monday-Friday typically between stores' opening hours and 5:00pm

  • Visits are conducted at a variety of retailers within a 30 mile radius of Bloomington, IN

  • Best Buy at 2721 E 3rd St Bloomington, IN 47401 is the center of the territory radius


  • This role operates on a 2-tiered pay rate system based on the specific in-store merchandising task being done:

  • $15.00/hour for General Merchandising tasks - these are routine, visual maintenance assignments such as product stocking/placement, updating signage, auditing inventory, tidying up the display, basic endcaps, changeouts, etc.

  • $17.00/hour for Merchandising Plus tasks - these are more advanced, technically involved assignments such as electronic device set ups/hook-ins, power functionality, display troubleshooting, interactive installations, etc.

  • W2 biweekly pay schedule

  • Eligible for a paid time off accrual plan


  • Strong detail-orientation to follow sets of written instructions and display diagrams

  • Ability to work independently and communicate reliably as a remote field employee

  • Access to reliable transportation to cover our retail vendor locations within a 30 mile radius

  • Access to internet, basic hand-held tool set, smart device with Wi-Fi/GPS, and printing capability
