Acosta Sales & Marketing Director Regional Sales in Atlanta, Georgia


The Field Sales and Strategy Director, IGNITE will work collaboratively with the CEO and Head of Sales for the client to gain and manage distribution to ensure long term brand success while subsequently driving sales and profitable volume at the retailers in which they manage. Candidate must have experience making HQ visits/calls and have experience working with PUBLIX.

The Field Director is responsible for managing the strategic direction of the clients’ brand in their respective region, being the “expert” for the retailers in which they manage. This includes the development of the strategic trade plan and the management of the plan for the client and providing oversight to the IGNITE BDT in terms of on-going analysis and review.

They work closely with the CEO and Head to build retailer specific strategies that accomplish the client and retailers objectives.

The Field Director will develop strategic plans against the retailers in their region in order to deliver revenue and profit expectations for the clients.

This position oversees the Acosta broker and provides leadership, direction and management for the Acosta broker business teams

The Field Director (Regional Business Development) serves as the lead for a specified region - retailer(s) – for benefit of one or more manufacturers. The Field Sales & Strategy Director is focused on the creation of long term value, and delivering short term results (both volume and financial) found through customers, markets and relationships.


  • Participates in establishing and implementing the short and long term strategy for customers in the assigned territory

  • Strategy, Leadership, and Accountability: builds client revenue and financial trade plans to maximize volume and profit, developing strategic plans that fit within global brand guidelines that are developed for and by the client, having accountability to the plan and the ability toproactivelydevelop contingency plans should objectives fall short of plan

  • Manage the Acosta brokerage network including providing direction and objectives to all levels within Acosta brokerage

  • Communication of plan details across all levels within IGNITE and the clients to mitigate any marketing or national issues that may result from plan uniqueness

  • Detailed understanding of the key levers of success within the retailers and the ability to build constituency with the CEO/Head of Sales to participate in these vehicles to maximize volume and profit

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Must have a college degree and at least 15+ years in a sales or marketing position. Successively increased responsibility with a sales and marketing agency or major national consumer packaged goods company. Prior experience must demonstrate sales skills along with the ability to successfully manage and direct others. Incumbent must demonstrate skills required to build team spirit and successfully motivate all Associates. Experience dealing with dedicated customer / client in all facets of their enterprise a plus.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a car

  • Must be willing to travel

  • Must be proficient in a variety of software packages used to support the sales function

  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, negotiation, and sales skills

  • Must have the ability to analyze sales and marketing information needed to make effective sales presentations

  • Must possess a solid understanding of the fundamental principals of financial management and possess the ability to effectively monitor and control expenses

  • Must be able to effectively communicate the sales philosophy and direction of the company to all Associates
